Fire Services

Kirkland Lake Fire Services provides 24-hour service and delivers a wide range of programs and services including: fire suppression, control of hazardous materials, auto extrication, fire investigation, public education, fire prevention, fire code advice, inspections and enforcement of the Ontario Fire Code, and responding to any rescue situation.

Kirkland Lake Fire Services has a Tiered Response Agreement with the District of Temiskaming Social Services Administration Board where firefighters, when requested will respond with ambulance personnel to provide assistance for medical emergencies. Lastly, the division runs fire prevention programs such as the TAPP-C for juvenile fire starters in concert with the Boreal Centre, the Learn Not to Burn curriculum, and the Older and Wiser program.

The Division consists of a Fire Chief, four Platoon Chiefs, six full-time fire fighters, and 30 volunteer firefighters. The Fire Station is located at 8 O'Meara Boulevard. Primary equipment includes two pumpers, one quintuple combination aerial truck, a rescue truck, and a chief's truck.
